Welcome to our Bogota countryside restaurant guide.
This is a guide for the standing out restaurants in Chía, Cajicá and Sopó. These are small towns located on the outskirts of the city, which Bogota inhabitants visit looking for a place to have a family lunch.
Bogotanos, the people from Bogotá, love to go out of the city, especially on weekends, for a breath of fresh air, as we usually say.
The custom of going out for lunch or for snacks to these small towns on Saturdays and mainly on Sundays has been there since I remember. We –me and my family- used to say “let’s go to the north for lunch”, because these towns are located north of our city.
Some years ago the gastronomic offer in Cajicá, Sopó and Chía was mainly traditional or typical Colombian food. However, right now you can find a wide selection of cuisines, like the Italian, Japanese, German and Fusion cuisine.
If you are decided for this gastronomic zone option you will enjoy also the tranquility, the natural environment and the fresh air these towns offer, sometimes clouded by the number of vehicles heading to this area. Anyway, I think the experience is worth.
Some of the restaurants in this zone have live music, and also offers the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon or evening of Rumba. The well known Colombian Rumba. You will like it.
We Colombians love music and we can dance at any time of the day. You may be surprised watching so many groups of friends together in one place. When we are in a “rumba”, we all seem friends, even without being so.
In general, the gastronomic offer of the countryside restaurants is varied in quality, price and type of cuisine. So all you have to do is choose from our list of restaurants and order.
